Preparing your niche market for business

One day I was walking through the local shopping, I was basically killing time waiting on my son's movie to end. I stopped and took a good look at my surroundings. It was very noticeable how the stores on the second floor differentiated from each other. There was a cell phone store, clothing store, nail shop, and furniture store. All were in the same section of the shopping mall. I noticed how the needs and wants of each store were targeting a particular niche, service or product. This was a small condensed area, but it was a very busy place. I thought about a certain type of niche that I would be interested in. 

There are endless possibilities in making a decision on a particular niche. To be honest, you can have more than just one niche, but if you are just a beginer, it would be wise to start out slow with just one niche until you are comfortable and then expand with a different type of niche market.
A niche is a particular specialty of services, products or demands. Every business has a niche market. Some have more than others. Ebay for example, has various types of niche. Identifying what type of niche you want is the key. You also will have to find out what makes your business or services different from the competition. This will require you to do research on your particular service or product. You will have to extensively study and learn about your targeted niche.

Creating a niche that will separate you from competitors is vital. So I would like to advise you to pick a niche that is not saturated by the market. Study your geographical areas, pricing, how well your niche is performing in a particular niche and the quality of your services that you will be able to provide. I wish I had not put the cart before the horse, but I did. I learned very quickly that I had to invest a lot of time to study and critique my product or services.

I strongly suggest that you buy or test your products or services. You will want to know everything you can about your niche market. You are the boss, so have complete confidence with your knowledge of your targeted niche. You will want to be an expert at your particular niche and provide your customers with a since of comfort.
